DeKalb County’s black bear population is on the rise, and it’s no wonder they’re drawn to our area, with its abundance of natural areas, including rivers, lakes, parks, and forests. As these majestic creatures become more prevalent, especially during their active spring and summer months, it’s crucial to become educated on how to protect ourselves and the bears in case of close encounters.

Fort Payne, AL once hosted one of the biggest country music events in the nation, known as June Jam. It has been 26 years since the last June Jam, but Alabama recently announced the revival for 2023.

In DeKalb County, there are more than a dozen shops filled to the brim with vintage furniture, vinyl records, and hundreds of unique finds, the perfect place to celebrate National Cherish an Antique Day.
