Weaving a Round Market Basket

Weaving a Round Market Basket Join artist Brittney Hughes to discover how to weave a reed basket with wooden handles; learning how to set up & form the basket, stop and start weaving techniques, and how to add a rim and handles. Completed basket measures 12 inches in diameter.  Materials will be provided, as well as all tools & supplies to use. This class is for ages 12 to adult (please no younger children for safety reasons)  Enthusiasm (all materials and tools needed to complete this project will be provided). Wear comfortable, casual clothing (this can get messy), and bring a sack lunch if you wish. This workshop emphasizes the use of hand tools, students should have moderate hand strength.  JSU’s Little River Canyon Center-Fort Payne, Alabama.  $150 supply fee.
