Plant Discovery Walk

Plant Discovery Walk- Join DeSoto State Park Staff for a meandering journey within the forest, taking in every opportunity to learn more about the natural world. On this hike we will identify many native plants of the southern Appalachians and will be teaching you how to recognize the species found in the park.  Scout out rare, beautiful plants and wondrous rock formations among the natural clearings dotting Lookout Mountain’s porous cap. Bring a notebook/camera if you wish and discover what can be seen along the trails. All ages welcome About the hike: This hike is approximately 1 1/2 miles round trip, moderate due to slightly rocky terrain. Free & open to everyone.
