Park Explorer Adventure Series: DeSoto Critter Crawl This once-a-month series is designed for explorers aged 3 to 103! Participants will have the opportunity to earn the coveted DeSoto State Park Patch while discovering the wonders of nature and the park’s historical treasures. This safari-style hike encourages kids to use their imaginations while learning real facts about each animal. Along the way, park staff will share fun wildlife tips and teach little hikers how to respect animals and nature. It’s the perfect blend of play and learning in the great outdoors! This hike is signed especially for young explorers and their families. As you walk along an short trail, keep your eyes peeled for stuffed animal “wildlife” tucked into the trees and bushes—everything from bears to birds! About the hike: Approx. 1 mile total, considered moderate, because of the uneven, rocky terrain. We will take our time, so this hike is good for all skill levels. Participants should bring a lunch/snacks/water, clothes & footwear suitable for the trail. Spaces are limited. Pre-registration HERE
