Park After Dark Fireside Chat A laid-back evening around the campfire with s’mores, good conversation, and the serene sounds of nature. Explore the frog pond, share stories, and enjoy the warmth of the fire under the stars. Join DeSoto State Park staff to get to know the park after dark, talk about any critters we wish, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the night.  Just a quick walk along a dirt road to the pond area, closed toed shoes are preferred. Seating is on the ground or on rocks, so bring your own comfortable camp chair, or ground blanket if you wish. Can even bring a hammock. Come & hang out with us!  8:00 PM (CST)  Meet at the frog pond, near DeSoto’s South entrance. Turn Down Blalock Dr to go towards the Lodge, and park in the first gravel parking lot on the right. Dirt path to pond is a quick walk.  Free & open to everyone, no-preregistration required. Weather-dependent, please call the Lodge at 256.845.5380 beforehand to check on status of fireside chat.
