Owl Prowl Night Hike at Desoto Stat Park
Participants will keep their eyes and ears open and hopefully catch a glimpse or hear one of the many owls that call DeSoto State Park home, as well as possibly other nocturnal creatures that might be out in the dark! Bring the whole flock and join DeSoto State Park staff as we search for our resident owls and other nighttime critters. Flashlights should have a red-light mode, or the light should be covered with red cellophane in order to preserve visitors and wildlife’s night vision. Meet at DeSoto’s Country Store on County Road 89. 9:00 pm (CST) FREE, and NO pre-registration required; bring headlamps and wear closed-toed shoes. Weather-dependent, please call the Lodge at 256.845.5380 beforehand to check on status of hike.
