Outdoor Observations Hike Have you ever seen a plant, mushroom, or critter and wondered what it was? Especially in the Spring there are some cool things to see, so join DeSoto State Park staff to discover what can be observed & recorded using iNaturalist! Moderate hike along mountainous terrain, some rocky terrain. Approximately 2 miles round trip. DeSoto State Park-Fort Payne, Alabama. Meet at DeSoto’s Country Store on County Road 89. Free & open to everyone, no-preregistration required. Weather-dependent, please call the Lodge at 256.845.5380 beforehand to check on status of walk.
