Moon Lake Land-Based Art and Southern Heritage Art Class
Moon Lake Land-Based Art and Southern Heritage Art Class This six-week, land-based art course explores Southern and Appalachian culture through place-based making and hands-on projects. Meeting Thursdays from 3:00–4:30 PM (February 5–March 12), students will complete three two-week projects: painting a 12” x 12” barn quilt inspired by regional traditions, creating a nature-based mandala or medicine wheel using locally gathered materials, and constructing small stone sculptures that emphasize balance and form. The course encourages creative connections to place, heritage, and identity while developing foundational skills in design, painting, and sculpture. No prior art experience is required. The course fee is $25 and can be paid with cash or check on the date of the first class. (Thursdays 3:00–4:30) For more information contact Laura Otinger @ 256-228-6001 Ext. 2322
