Tree Ring Printing: Telling Nature’s Story Hosted by DeSoto State Park. The Serious Skills series is a variety of classes and workshops that provide opportunities to discover a hidden talent or learn a new skill for personal enrichment. Classes are open to local residents, overnight guests, and park visitors. Discover the fascinating story of trees and our environment through time! Tree rings hold the secrets of a tree’s age and the history of its surroundings. In this hands-on event, you’ll have the opportunity to print tree rings, uncover the tree’s age, and transform these natural records into unique pieces of art that you can take home. Turn ordinary tree cookies into stunning nature-inspired creations! This class is for ages 8 to adult. DeSoto State Park in Fort Payne, Alabama. Meeting place to be disclosed at registration.  $15.00 -includes all supplies. Class space is limited, pre-registration is required for attendance in this class.
