Follow Your Art, MERF Community Walking Trail Sponsored by Little River Arts Council and the Mentone Educational Resources Foundation The Sweetest Little Festival in Mentone! Music, Storytelling, Children’s Art Projects, Face painting, Mobile Munchies Food Truck, Freudian Sip coffees, smoothies. Art vendors will line the winding walking trail behind the MERF House, on Highway 117, just east of Mentone. 30 of the areas favorite artists and makers will have work for sale in a variety of media: painting, ceramics, woodcarving, photography, textile arts, jewelry-making, and more. The focus at this show is community, with local artists and musicians, a return of the popular sidewalk chalk contest, storytelling, face painting and more.
One of the main attractions of Follow Your Art is the return of the popular Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest. The contest is open to all ages, individuals, or groups, interested in creating works of art along the track. Prizes will be awarded! Exhibiting Artists: Awards totaling $900 for Best of Show (Art); Best of Show (Craft); & 1st & 2nd places. PLUS awards for Best Chalk Art (Adult); Best Chalk Art (Youth); and a People’s Choice Award. Little River Arts Council will provide the chalk or participants can bring their own. Chalk artists can arrive as early as 7:00 AM on Saturday morning, so that their creations are completed or nearly completed when visitors start to arrive.
