First Day Hike 2026: South Sauty Trail

First Day Hike 2026: South Sauty Trail Join the Park Naturalist (and thousands of others across the nation) to celebrate the first day of the New Year on a fun hike along the South Sauty trail! This trail follows South Sauty Creek and features waterfalls during Winter. The South Sauty trail is a 3-mile (out-and-back), moderate-to-difficult hike with rough terrain. There is parking available near the trailhead on both sides of the road, as well as down the road towards the ORV Trail West (in front of the yellow gate).
