Enjoy the Moment: Hike & Hammock
Enjoy the Moment: Hike & Hammock Discover a secluded hammock spot and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the great outdoors! Let’s unwind and recharge together amidst breathtaking scenery and the soothing sway of hammocks. Hiking offers the opportunity to connect with nature, explore new trails, and get some exercise, while relaxing in a hammock allows you to unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. DeSoto State Park Assistant Naturalist, Mirandi Watson will lead a short hike to a peaceful hammock spot. Participants will be supplied a hammock to use and shown how to hang it. Afterwards, 30-45 min will be spent relaxing in the hammocks before hiking back out. About the hike: the hike is considered moderate, because of the uneven, rocky terrain. Each month will utilize a different trail in the park, be beginner friendly, and be between 1-3 miles each. The April hike will be along the Never-neverland Trail. Meet at the Benefield Nature Center next to the Country Store on County Road 89. Will caravan to Lost Falls Trailhead: Free, but RSVP is required, so we know how many to expect.
