Congo Nature Preserve

Discover this hidden gem nestled along the borders of Little River Canyon National Preserve.  Congo Nature Preserve is dedicated to protecting these historic lands for future generations to enjoy.​  Congo, Alabama is a recently discovered, lost historical community from the late 1800s named Congo. ​Visitors can access swimming, hiking, sightseeing, picnicking. Parking at Congo Falls Park requires a single use permit from April 1st to October 1st.  Permits are not required from October 2nd to March 31st. Boater/Kayaker season permits are available at no charge, but only from September 1st to  April 30th and subject to approval.
