When visiting DeKalb County, out-of-towners often ask us for the best places to eat. With a plethora of amazing establishments throughout the region, we couldn’t resist sharing some of the absolute “best bites in DeKalb.” In this installment, we explore the burger scene, showcasing a mix of traditional favorites and delightful surprises.

DeKalb County’s black bear population is on the rise, and it’s no wonder they’re drawn to our area, with its abundance of natural areas, including rivers, lakes, parks, and forests. As these majestic creatures become more prevalent, especially during their active spring and summer months, it’s crucial to become educated on how to protect ourselves and the bears in case of close encounters.

Fort Payne, AL once hosted one of the biggest country music events in the nation, known as June Jam. It has been 26 years since the last June Jam, but Alabama recently announced the revival for 2023.
