Downtown Fort Payne Ghost Walk Tour
Downtown Fort Payne Ghost Walk Tour Join Bill Potter, local historian and founder of the Facebook’s Dekalb County, Alabama Historical Group, and Robin Black, Artistic Director for Landmarks of Dekalb County, Alabama Inc., as they lead 2 tours each night through the Main Street District along Gault Avenue in historic downtown Fort Payne. Along the way, they will be highlighting stories and surprises about people and places from different times in the city’s history. Starting at the Fort Payne Hosiery Museum, the tour will last around 40-45 minutes, before returning to finish at the Fort Payne Opera House. Refreshments will be available for a donation before & after each tour. Each tour group is limited to 12-13 people, and a pre-purchased ticket is required to participate. Some stories on the Evening Tours may not be suitable for young children, so they are not recommended for children under 12. Sunday afternoon tours are more family-friendly and a little more accessible if you’re afraid of the dark! This program will still be best suited for children 5 & up. This is a walking tour, but to make it as accessible as possible, transportation will be provided for those who require it.
