Series Skills Series: Cherokee Flower Printing Class Learn a simple, stunning technique, historically used by Cherokee women to decorate fabric. Pounding with a rock or a hammer transfers the natural dyes of a flower or leaf to fabric while retaining the design of the original material. In this class, join interpretive naturalist, artist and wildcrafter Ila Hatter to make a beautiful and unique piece of fabric to take home. Participants can also bring their own fabric like t-shirts, handkerchiefs, scarfs, tea towel, pillowcases, etc. as long as it is 100% cotton. This class is for ages 8 to adult. 2:00 p.m. (CST): DeSoto State Park in Fort Payne, Alabama (Location disclosed at time of registration): $10.00 -includes all supplies.
