DESCRIPTION:Botanical Drawing Class Moon Lake Village in Mentone We will be hosting a two-day botanical drawing class at Moon Lake Village. The class is being taught by visiting artist/instructor Redenta Soprano. Class Description: The plant kingdom with its fascinating diversity of form is a delight to explore in the garden or at the drawing board. This class will introduce you to the basis of botanical illustration in pencil, which is the foundation for working in any media. Whether you are an experienced artist or a fledgling beginner, this workshop will help sharpen your powers of observation, as well as improve your drawing ability using plants as a subject matter. About the instructor: Redenta Soprano is an artist as well as a gardener and has a degree in both natural sciences and art. For over 30 years she has taught various techniques of botanical illustration at different venues including: the NY Botanical Garden, Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando, FL and the John C. Campbell Folk School in Murphy, NC. Tuition: $195 (students will need to bring a few supplies to the class. The list will be provided upon registration). The class is limited to 10 students.
