Nature’s Classroom

Nature’s Classroom has been operating at different sites around the country since 1973 and Nature’s Classroom Atop Lookout Mountain has been at the current site in Mentone, Alabama since 1991.

Every year thousands of participants from public schools, private schools, and home school groups attend Nature’s Classroom as a way to support and enhance traditional classroom learning. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth groups, and other groups also attend Nature’s Classroom for custom programs.

We believe that success in education requires experiential education as well as traditional classroom instruction and a mixture of both provides an effective way to reach all students. Our program is one of the few to be accredited by both the American Camp Association and the Association for Experiential Education.
